Does this sound familiar?

⛷️

The "Straight Shot"

Your child starts moving... and immediately goes straight down, gaining speed until they panic-stop or crash.

🍕

The Locked Pizza

They stiffen their legs in a wedge, refusing to shift weight because "turning feels scary."

🙉

The "Parent Filter"

You say "Turn left!", they hear "Blah blah blah." Instructions feel like pressure.

Meet "Swoosh" the Snow-saurus

Swoosh the Snow-saurus on skis

Kids turn when they feel safe and playful. That’s exactly what this story is designed to do.

Swoosh is a friendly dinosaur who skis at night. The story gives your child a special mission on the snow. Instead of thinking about "edges" or "shifting weight," they focus on the game.

The result? Natural, confident turns.

  • ✅ Takes the pressure off parent-child lessons
  • ✅ Creates a shared "secret language" for the hill
  • ✅ Works for skiers aged 3-6 (and older kids too!)

More Than Just a Story

Turning Guide cover

The book includes a Turning Guide for parents (in specific editions) that explains exactly how to translate the story into action on the slopes. This guide will help ensure you have more ways to help get your child to start turning on the snow.

"It’s one of those ‘kid magic’ moments where they stop thinking about the scary part because they’re busy doing something exciting."

Nope. The whole point is to reduce pressure and make it easier for kids to try turning. The guide (when included) is written for parents — clear, simple, and practical.

About the Author

Tony Herman - Ski Instructor & Author

Hi, I’m Tony Herman.

I’m a ski instructor who’s spent a lot of time teaching little kids (and their parents) how to get comfortable turning. If you’ve ever tried to coach your child on the hill and it turned into frustration… yeah, I’ve seen that movie.

I wrote Swoosh the Snow-saurus because kids learn best when it feels like play. A good story gives them an idea they can carry onto the snow — without the pressure of “do it right.”

My goal is simple: help families have more fun together, build confidence faster, and turn ski days into something your kid actually wants to do again tomorrow.
